Outline Your business in a nutshell:

LC Virtual Assistant Services (LCVA) was established in 2018 and designed as a support service for both businesses and private clients. The two forms of support we offer, business and PA services, complement each other well and ease the burden on busy entrepreneurs in both areas of their lives, work and home.

Instead of your average outsourced PA, LCVA’s vision was one of bringing together a collaborative network of highly skilled online freelance associates, each with a depth of professional experience and expertise in their specific fields.

We offer a broad range of remote, and occasionally on-site, business and administration support. Whatever support our clients need, LCVA has a team member who can deliver it – from administration and organisation for businesses and private clients, making travel arrangements, bookkeeping, human resources, and support with events to Welsh translation, social media, web design, public relations, and content creation.

Why did you start your business?

When I had my child at a young age I was driven to set them an excellent example by getting my dream: owning my own business and having the best balance of work and family life possible. I knew that I needed experience and education to achieve this goal, so I went out and got them over 10 years. When I graduated from the Business School at the University of South Wales in 2017, I was able to establish LC Virtual Assistant Services (LCVA) based in Penarth in February 2018.

Interesting Fact About Yourself…

When I was younger, I spent many of my days training in Ballroom and Latin dancing. I even danced in Blackpool tower and was part of the winning formation team!

Inspire us with a quote…

I love quotes! Where do I start… When LCVA was first launching I found this quote “Master your strengths and outsource your weaknesses!”

This is one of the quotes I find inspiring because it is so true! It doesn’t have to apply to business life, it can apply to personal life too! How… For example if you’re like me and not the best at cleaning windows… (I’m forever leaving those annoying streaks!) get a window cleaner in to do it for you!

How do you relax?

Taking time out is really important to me and so is family time. On weekends we tend to go out for a walk and a coffee or I do love doing art and crafts projects.

What would you say to your ‘five years ago’ self?

You were mad to ever think this life was not possible! Yes, we all overthink on times but I spent so many hours thinking…. I wasn’t good enough or how the hell am I going to make this work as a single parent but it is what you make of it and working hard is paying off.

Your Book Recommendation

I LOVE Thie Little Black Book by Otegha Uwagba. It’s a great little pocket rocket for those just starting out.

What’s next for your business?

When setting up LCVA one of my main goals was to not only assist the growth of other businesses but it was to create flexible working opportunities. This year we have been successful in trialling our expansion and aim to continue this growth in 2021 by offering work experience placements, internships and employment.
