Having a big vision, inspiring mission, grand plan, clear destination and compelling goals for your business are all great to have…

But what will actually take you there?

Action is the foundational key to all success (to quote Pablo Picasso)

…and actions need a vehicle to cluster them to work together, point them in the right direction and move them at the speed needed.

These vehicles are your Rockets.

Your rockets are the most important priorities for the next few days, weeks and months. They are linked to your longer term goals and have gravity and momentum to take your business forward.

How to Identify Your Rockets

To identify your rockets, first consider your plan for the year ahead.

Now bring your focus to the next few months from today. What are the most important things that have to be done first for your one year goals to be met?

Aim for up to about 6 active Rockets in a three month period.

Some rockets will continue to be important through a long period of time, others much shorter. Some need to be acted on now, other rockets you may park for the next quarter or beyond – still important but not for action straight away. Review your rockets regularly.

What are the main rockets for your business?
Identifying what needs to happen independent of who does what in your business …you can then start to identify who is responsible for each rocket and parts of each rocket.

What are the rockets for your role in your business?
This becomes your personal effectiveness plan as leader

What are the rockets for your team?
If you have a team, it is useful for each team member to have rockets relating to their role and understand how this fits into the bigger picture.
