- Click through on the calendar to the event you want to attend and book – we use EventBrite for bookings.
- In your booking confirmation email you’ll receive the online meeting link and instructions on how to join the call. We use Zoom for our calls (free to use)…
Some Tips for Virtual Video Networking
- Test your webcam and mic beforehand
- Make sure you’re in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed (ideally – but don’t worry if this is not possible!)
- Join a couple of minutes before the start time – you’ll be in the waiting room and then brought into the call by the host
- When not speaking, mute yourself with the onscreen controls
- Use the online chat facility of you want to ask a question or share some information but don’t want to disturb who’s speaking
- If you need to leave the meeting for a while you can switch your video stream off using the onscreen controls
- Have some text about your business and contact details handy that you can copy and paste into the chat
- Look into the camera to get eye contact
- Thumbs up and waving is a great way to interact
- Don’t forget to smile!
